JAKARTA - The police have implemented a one way policy or in the direction of entering the Jakarta Cathedral Church for congregants who want to undergo the 2022 Christmas Mass, Saturday, December 24. This effort was made to prevent the accumulation of congregants when entering the house of worship in Central Jakarta.
Sawah Besar Police Chief AKP Patar Mula Bona said all congregants who wish to undergo the 2022 Christmas Mass at the Jakarta Cathedral Church entered through door 2.
"We have coordinated with internal security, all congregants will enter through door 2. So we only use one entrance there," said Bona when met at the Jakarta Cathedral Church, Saturday, December 24, as reported by Antara.
Christmas Masses at the Jakarta Cathedral Church will be divided into three sessions, namely 16.30, 19.00 and 21.30 WIB.
Bona explained, per Christmas 2022 Mass session a capacity of 100 percent or around 2,500 congregations will be applied.
Bona said all personnel, including the TNI, Polri, Satpol PP and internal security, would check every person or object that entered the church.
His party has also appealed to every congregation of the Jakarta Cathedral Church to minimize their luggage, or not to carry luggage.
Bona said that when the movement headed for the second Christmas mass procession, there was a half-hour lag to control the flow when the second Christmas mass congregation was ready at door 2.
"The first mass we take out through door 3, door 5 and door 6, so that there are no crowds between those who enter and leave the church," said Bona.
In addition, Bona emphasized that the joint team security post will be on guard for three shifts and be on standby for 24 hours.
"No one should be careless and keep an eye on the activities in the church or its surroundings," he said.
