Ahead Of Christmas And New Year, The Governor Of BI Ensures The Availability Of Safe Payment Money And Systems

JAKARTA - Bank Indonesia (BI) stated that it has made a number of special preparations related to the approaching momentum of Christmas and New Year (nataru) this time.

This was conveyed directly by the Governor of BI Perry Warjiyo in a press conference after the Board of Governors' Meeting (RDG) today.

According to Perry, the central bank has taken strategic steps to ensure the smooth running of the national payment system.

"This is intended to anticipate Christmas 2022 and New Year's 2023," he said on Thursday, December 22.

Perry explained that there are at least two focuses that are of concern to the monetary authority. The first is related to the availability of rupiah currency for the community.

"BI ensures that the money in circulation is maintained in all regions of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI)," he said.

Second, support for the regulation of financial traffic for a safe transaction process.

"We will maintain the operational sustainability of the payment system organized by Bank Indonesia and the payment system industry," said Perry.
