Rapper Drake Loses A Bet Of IDR 15.6 Billion Despite Argentina's Champions
JAKARTA - Canadian musician Drake reportedly lost a bet of 1 million dollars (Rp15.6 billion) after betting on the FIFA 2022 Qatar World Cup final between Argentina and France, Sunday 18 December evening.
The 36-year-old rapper lost a lot of money despite beating Argentina to come out as its first champion since 1986.
Drake had previously posted a bet via Instagram Story. He is known to be betting on the Stakes platform and will earn 2.75 million dollars if he wins.
In addition, a video clip of a conversation with opponents at the expense of the Roshtein casino streamer alias Ishmale Schwartz was also circulating on the internet. Roshtein champions France defend the title.
"I'm betting on Argentina, he's betting on France," said Drake, who wore Napoli's jersey in the video as reported by Outlook India, Monday, December 19, 2022.
Even though Argentina finally came out as champions, it was bad for Drake because he put the stakes in the 1x2 market without taking into account extra time if the two teams drew 90 minutes.
As is known, Lionel Messi and his friends came out as champions through a 4-2 penalty shootout after a 3-3 draw for 120 minutes. In the tos-toss round Aurelien Tchouameni and Kingsley Coman missed a penalty for Les Bleus.
Argentina took the lead through Messi's penalty and Angel Di Maria's goal in the first half. Kylian Mbappe then equalized the score in a one-minute gap in the second half.
The score made the match have to go on to extra time. Messi had brought theANG team up 3-2 in the 108th minute, before the Mbappe penalty forced the game into the penalty round.
Drake previously made a big bet at the Super Bowl and won $1.4 million after betting $1.26 million between three bets for Rams to win over Cincinnati Bengals.
He also suffered heavy losses after betting $2 million on the UFC 281 bout as a result of his Israeli middleweight champion Adesa was defeated by Alex Pereira.
