Location Of New Year's Celebration Is Still Beingasaran, DKI Transportation Agency Ready To Share Parking Bags

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Transportation Service (Dishub) will provide several parking bags to welcome the upcoming New Year celebrations. Coordination is still being carried out because the location of the event is still being discussed by the Tourism and Economics Office (Disparekraf).

"For the location, we are still coordinating with Disparekraf. In addition, we are also still discussing internally regarding parking bags during the New Year's celebration," said Head of DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency Syafrin Liputo to reporters, Saturday, December 17.

The meeting related to the activity, continued Syafrin, will only be held next week. After the location is determined, then the DKI Transportation Agency plans a parking point for residents who want to attend the New Year celebrations later.

Although later providing parking bags, Syafrin still asked the public to use public transportation to the event location. This request was submitted to prevent congestion.

"But we urge people to use public transportation. Because later it is planned to operate for 24 hours until the new year," he said.

However, he could not confirm which public transportation would operate 24 hours at the turn of the year. The DKI Transportation Agency is still waiting for the results of the meeting.

Previously, Acting Governor Heru Budi Hartono ensured that the DKI Provincial Government would again hold the 2023 New Year celebration on December 31. This celebration is being prepared by the DKI Tourism and Creative Economy Agency (Disparekraf).

The plan is that this New Year's party will be located in a number of locations in Jakarta. "One of them is at TMII, then the HI Roundabout is there," Heru told reporters, Wednesday, December 7.

This new year's celebration has been banned since the COVID-19 pandemic hit the country. At the turn of 2021, Jakarta was even made quiet.

At that time, there were a number of rules made by the Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan. Restrictions on activities are carried out in accordance with central government regulations.
