When Mayweather Supports Will Smith After The Incident Of Chris Rock And THE Actor For 10 Days

JAKARTA - Boxing legend Floyd Mayweather called Will Smith constantly for 10 days after the actor slapped comedian Chris Rock at the Oscars.

Rock made a joke about Smith's wife, Jada Pinkett, in her speech at the show and ended with Smith getting on stage and slapping Rock in the face before returning to his chair and shouting 'put my wife's name away from your mouth'.

Smith won the Academy award that night and had to get on stage at the same time apologize for his actions. He then went through a very difficult time after the event and was not seen in public for some time.

In a video obtained by TMZ Sports, Smith reveals that it was Mayweather who gave him support during that period, Money kept calling him.

"I want to say something too about Floyd. So, we've met each other, but we're not like friends," Smith was quoted as saying by Marca on Saturday.

"And, the day after Oscar, for ten days he called me every day.

"And, he's like, 'Ay, you know you're the champion, right? You're great? I want you to hear my voice say it.'

"Every day he calls me... and it feels like my friend is forever there."

Smith then made a public apology to Rock for what he had done, where he said: "I am human and I made a mistake and I try not to think of myself as useless," Smith said.
