153 East Java And Central Kalimantan Business Actors AGREEd With Transactions Of IDR 293.59 Billion From The Trade And Investment Mission

SURABAYA - The Provincial Governments of East Java (East Java Provincial Government) and Central Kalimantan (Central Kalimantan) recorded transactions worth IDR 293.59 billion from the trade and investment missions that took place in Palangka Raya, Wednesday.

East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa said the eight-hour activity was attended by 153 business actors from the two provinces, which resulted in 40 transactions with a total value of Rp293.59 billion.

"Through this very productive meeting, I hope that the cooperation between the two provinces will be built more productively and more productive because earlier between regional apparatus organizations and business actors in each province has made a memorandum of understanding," Khofifah said in a written statement quoted by Antara, Thursday 15 December.

He hopes that today's trade mission can be a momentum to identify the various potentials of each region.

"Hopefully what we are doing will provide reinforcement for the two provinces regarding improving quality, productivity and of course brotherhood that must be built among every citizen in this country," he said.

In the future, the former Minister of Social Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia hopes that there will be a return visit from Central Kalimantan Province to East Java Province to increase productivity.

According to him, trade and investment missions are part of the acceleration between one province and another to be more effective, efficient and innovative. In addition, it is part of strengthening collaboration between the two provinces.

"This is the fastest grafting method. Which one is more innovative in transmitting its knowledge, which is stronger in transmitting knowledge. This method will provide reinforcement in each province," he said.

Governor Khofifah believes that the trade mission between East Java and Central Kalimantan has strategic potential because trade transactions from the two provinces in 2021 will experience a surplus.

The details of East Java's trade with Central Kalimantan in 2021 amounted to IDR 5.53 trillion with a sales value of IDR 4.47 trillion and a purchase value of IDR 1.06 trillion.

Some of the main commodities purchased from Central Kalimantan to East Java include fertilizers, rice, livestock food, calorie drinks, cows, soap, motorized vehicles, food products, pure powder milk and cement.

Meanwhile, sales from Central Kalimantan to East Java include oil, crude palm oil, coal, wood, carpets, electronic devices, data processing machines, tubes, pipes and hoses, pumps, electrical conductors and shrimp.

Based on data from the Central Statistics Agency, the trade surplus of East Java's goods and services was mostly contributed by trade between regions. It was recorded that throughout 2021, East Java's trade mission activities with other provinces resulted in transactions with a value of IDR 259 trillion.
