Contributing To National Economic Recovery, PLN Achieves Top BUMN Awards 2022
JAKARTA - PT PLN (Persero) won the Top BUMN Awards 2022 Corporate Category.
The award was given for the company's contribution in supporting the national economic recovery.
PLN's contribution is reflected in the financial performance of the company, even in the midst of the pressure of the Covid-19 pandemic. Based on the company's performance report, PLN has actually managed to achieve the best financial performance in history.
In fact, PLN managed to make debt payments faster, resulting in significant cost saving from year to year.
Deputy Minister of BUMN I, Pahala N. Mansury said, the contribution of SOEs in the period 2020 to the third quarter of 2022 in the form of taxes, dividends and Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP) reached IDR 1,198 trillion.
This achievement increased by IDR 68 trillion compared to the 2017-2019 period.
This, he continued, is clear evidence of the transformation of SOEs which results in positive performance and a big contribution to the Indonesian economy.
"Even though the performance is quite good, we still have homework to do. BUMN friends continue to carry out transformations, how can we innovate the model business," he said.
The President Director of PLN represented by the Director of Distribution Adi Priyanto appreciated the award given by Bisnis Indonesia. According to him, public appreciation spurs PLN people to continue to make a positive contribution to economic recovery after the pandemic.
"This award is not only the result of the work of the BOD leadership, but thanks to the support of the government and thanks to the hard work of PLN personnel," said Adi.
Adi explained that not only does PLN provide electricity, PLN also always provides electricity reliability and affordability to each customer. Especially during the pandemic.
During the pandemic, PLN was present to provide electricity tariff stimulus, especially for the community.
Throughout 2020 since April the government has distributed IDR 13.15 trillion to 33.02 million customers.
For 2021, the budget allocation for electricity stimulus is IDR 11.08 trillion to 31.94 million customers.
This stimulus is a form of social protection provided by the government during the Implementation of Emergency Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) to the community. The distribution of stimulus by PLN to the community is going well.
This effort is concrete evidence that the state is here to protect the community. PLN also continues to increase the reliability of electricity for the community.
PLN also contributes to state revenue through tax payments and PNBP cannot be separated from PLN's improving financial performance.
PLN also continues to strive to increase revenue by implementing business transformation strategies, starting from improving generating governance to regulating digital-based electricity distribution, this effort will have a positive effect on the contribution to increasing tax payments.
With the improvement in the handling of Covid 19 and improving economic conditions in Indonesia, it has had a positive impact on PLN to continue to contribute to state revenues.
