Megawati To PDIP Cadres: Don't Use Misuse Power With Corruption
Chairman of the PDI-P (PDIP) Megawati Soekarnoputri reminded her cadres not to be corrupt. This warning was conveyed through PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto when opening anti-corruption training for prospective legislative candidates (candidates) at the PDIP Party School, Lenteng Agung, Jakarta today, Wednesday, December 14.
"Mrs. Megawati has repeatedly warned, don't use the wrong thing, don't use the wrong power obtained from the people by committing corruption," said Hasto as quoted in his written statement.
Hasto reminded that the candidates who took part in this training were guided by Pancasila to avoid corruption. One of them, in the fifth principle related to social justice.
He said, the legislative candidates must remember that the power given by the people must also be used to help those who are oppressed. This is done by staying away from corrupt practices that make society unsecured.
"How can all of you move the spirit of anti-corruption when all of you do not ignite the spirit of humanity. The spirit of power for the people, power for those who are oppressed, social justice, how corruption actually prevents it in the end," he said.
Furthermore, Hasto said that this candidate would have to take part in anti-corruption training activities. This step is the beginning of the selection stage.
After passing this training stage, the legislative candidates will continue to the psychological test stage. Next, they will only be appointed as legislative candidates from the temporary list.
"Towards April, it will be reduced one by one, so that in April it will only be appointed as a legislative candidate in the temporary candidate list," said Hasto.
From this temporary list, the incoming names must wait for the announcement of the General Election Commission (KPU). Hasto said that there are criteria that must be met by PDIP candidates in the 2024 Pileg, namely understanding the ideology of Pancasila and its spirit.
"Given that to become members of the legislature, all of you must understand how the ideology of Pancasila is, how it is contained in the Preamble to the 1945 Constitution and the spirit of his birth on June 1, 1945," he explained.
Will legislative candidates who participate in this activity reach 27,802 participants from all over Indonesia. The implementation is carried out in a hybrid manner, namely offline and online.
This anti-corruption training was attended by the Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Firli Bahuri. Later, the candidates will have to draw conclusions from the material submitted as considerations.
