BIMA - Police officers detained a fisherman who caught fish in the waters of Sanggar Bay, Dompu Regency, West Nusa Tenggara using explosives."We have detained the person concerned at the Kilo Police Detention Center," said Dompu Police Chief AKBP Iwan Hidayat in a written statement received in Mataram, Antara, Tuesday, December 13.He explained that the arrest of the perpetrator with the initials MC (36) from Lasi Village, Kilo District, Dompu Regency took place last Monday. The perpetrator was arrested while leaning a boat on the coast of Sanggar Bay.Police arrested MC with caught fish evidence using explosives and green glass bottles filled with explosives."We also confiscated the boat belonging to the perpetrator and the engine," he said.In addition to securing evidence that corroborates the existence of a criminal act of bombing fish, the police also confiscated evidence from the results of a search at MC's house.The evidence, he explained, was suspected to be the raw material for making explosives, including jerry cans containing plant fertilizers, plastic bags containing cotton, explosive powder, and wood lighters in plastic packaging.Iwan explained that officers arrested the perpetrators based on follow-up information from the public that in Sanggar Bay there were frequent fishing activities using explosives."Based on this information, our personnel checked the coastal area and managed to catch the perpetrators who had just finished catching fish using explosives," he said.Regarding the case of fishing using this explosive, Iwan ensured that his party had coordinated with the Kilo Fisheries UPTD and the Kilo Fisheries Pokmaswa."We are coordinating preventive measures, overcoming fishing activities using explosives and potassium," said Iwan.
