A Total Of 9oo Uninhabitable Homes In Surabaya Receive Improvements From The East Java City Government
JAKARTA - A total of 900 uninhabitable houses (rutilahu) in the city of Surabaya, East Java, have received improvements from the local city government through the "Dandan Omah" program throughout 2022.
Surabaya Mayor Eri Cahaydi in Surabaya said the "Dandan Omah" (home improvement) program had completed 857 units, out of a total target of 900 residential units in Surabaya.
"Entering December 2022, the target of 900 units in the 'Dandan Omah' program has been completed," he said, quoted from Antara, Sunday, December 11.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Surabaya City Public Housing and Settlement Area (Disperkim), Irvan Wahyudrajad, said that the acceleration of the work on the Dandan Omah program has so far completed 857 units of the 900-unit target.
"God willing, this December, 900 houses have completed repairs. We hope that there will be improvements in the quality of housing from the roof, walls, floors, air circulation, and including latrines," he said.
According to him, when the quality of the occupancy increases, the productivity of beneficiaries will increase.
"The message of Mr. Wali (Eri Cahyadi), we are not only preparing from the side of the building but also from human resources. Purchasing building materials around the local village, the workers are also local residents in one village and are involved in the construction of rutilahu," he said.
One resident of Jalan Lidah Wetan Gang IX Surabaya, Suhaini, expressed his gratitude to the Surabaya City Government for accelerating the "Dandan Omah" program which has repaired his house to be habitable.
"Alhamdulillah, I have been assisted by the Mayor (Eri Cahyadi) and the Surabaya City Government, my house has been repaired and grateful to have been helped. Hopefully you will always be trustworthy to the people of Surabaya," he said.
Previously, the Mayor of Surabaya, Eri Cahyadi, again handed over the keys to the beneficiaries of the Dandan Omah program or rutilahu four residential locations on Friday, December 10, including Indrawati, a resident of Jalan Citra Raya Lakarsantri, Rumadji, a resident of Jalan Lakarsantri, Choirul, a resident of Jalan Jeruk Gang Tmpung and Suhaini, a resident of Jalan Lidah Wetan Gang IX, Surabaya City.
