Sungkem, Kaesang Pangarep Asks Jokowi To Rest For The Siraman Process Before Marrying Erina Gudono
JAKARTA - The youngest son of President Joko Widodo or Jokowi, Kaesang Pangarep underwent a siraman procession on Friday, December 9 morning. Along with Erina Gudono who held the siraman in Sleman, Yogyakarta, Kaesang underwent a siraman procession at Jokowi's family residence in Sumber, Solo.
Before the siraman, Jokowi first put up a bleketepe at his residence. Then at around 8-15 WIB, Kaesang fell in front of Jokowi and Iriana to do a sungkem. It was also seen accompanying the families of Kaesang's two brothers, namely the family of Gibran Rakabuming Raka and the family of Kahiyang Ayu.
The siraman procession began with receiving water from seven springs from the prospective bride and groom received by Gibran as the family representative. The water used is water from 7 sources. The seven sources came from the Great Mosque of Mangkunegaran Al-Wustho, the Great Mosque of Kasunanan Surakarta, Pura Mangkunegaran, Keraton Surakarta, Umbul Pengging in Boyolali, the water taken from the well of the house of Kaesang's grandmother and water from President Jokowi's private house.
Jokowi accompanied by Iriana then gave the first shower to Kaesang. A number of guests and their families were also accompanied by siraman and blessings, including Prof. Mahfud Md., Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, Retno Marsudi, Hadi Tjahjanto, Idong Setyo Husodo, Gibran Rakabuming, and Bobby Nasution.
After the siraman, Jokowi then cut off Kaesang's hair, and continued with a procession carrying Kaesang. Jokowi also gave the last bribe to Kaesang Pangarep which also ended a series of siraman processions.
After undergoing the siraman procession of his youngest child, Jokowi will go to the residence of his future son-in-law in Sleman to attend the Erina midadareni procession. Furthermore, Kaesang and Erina will hold a marriage contract at the Royal Ambarrukmo Yogyakarta on Saturday, December 10, followed by downloading of mantu and tasymasa in Solo on Sunday, December 11.
