TANGERANG - A man with the initials B (22) was arrested by the police on suspicion of extortion against the victim with the initials Y. The mode he did was to threaten the victim by distributing the Video Call Sex (VCS) recording to social media. Because he was afraid his wife and friends would find out, the victim fulfilled the perpetrator's wishes.
Tangerang Police Chief Kombes Raden Romdhon Natakusuma explained that the case began after the victim became acquainted with the perpetrator on the Michat application. The perpetrator disguised himself as a woman with the name Riana. The closeness continues to the WhatsApp (WA) application.
When the perpetrator managed to convince the victim that she was a woman, their chat continued to video call sex (VCS).
"During the video call, the suspect, who was originally a man, manipulated him as if he were a woman," said Raden Romdhon Natakusuma in a short message, Friday, December 9.
This activity was secretly recorded by the perpetrator. The goal is to blackmail the victim. The perpetrator threatened the victim to spread the video if his wish was not fulfilled.
The victim was asked by the perpetrator to send 3 million to buy a bag. On the same day, the victim was also asked to send back Rp1.5 million," he said.
Shortly thereafter, the victim again received threats that the video would be distributed to his wife and friends.
Victims who feel depressed and don't want to be ashamed, ask the suspect not to distribute the video. The suspect again extorted the victim by asking for Rp7 million for a vacation to Bali," he said.
The threat and extortion carried out by B continued until the victim had spent Rp. 16.2 million. Unable to deal with this situation, the victim reported the incident to the Tangerang Police, Wednesday, October 26.
The officers moved until finally the perpetrator was arrested.
The Head of Crime Investigation Unit of the Tangerang Police, Ipda Prasetya Bima Praelja, revealed that the man who blackmailed his victim by distributing video calls to sex turned out to have deceived dozens of people. This was known based on the examination of the perpetrator at the Tangerang Police.
"From the investigation, it was also revealed that the victim of the suspect's deception had reached 50 people with the same mode," said Bima.
Bima said, so far the victims have benefited hundreds of millions of victims.
"About 50 people with profits or results that the suspect can reach 500 million," he said.
The perpetrator was charged with Article 45 paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 27 paragraph (1) and Article 45 paragraph (4) in conjunction with Article 27 paragraph (4) with a penalty of 6 years in prison.
