'No Need To Be Angry And Hate,' Vice President Ma'ruf Amin Responds To Controversy Regarding The Criminal Code

JAKARTA - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin said there was no need for anger and hatred related to the new Criminal Code (KUHP)."There is no need for such anger and hatred," said the Vice President after attending the opening of the Mukernas II of the Indonesian Ulema Council in Jakarta, Antara, Thursday, December 8.Ma'ruf Amin said that the government had held discussions with the DPR RI regarding the Criminal Code Bill.According to Vice President Ma'ruf, it is indeed difficult to find an agreement between all parties in one way.He asked parties who do not agree with a number of articles in the Criminal Code to conduct a judicial review to the Constitutional Court regarding the articles being questioned."It is not easy to agree on everything in one way. Those who have not agreed can have a judicial review. I think it's only natural that someone has not agreed," he explained.
