JAKARTA - The Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham) has transferred 20 foreign nationals (WNA) who are 'deteniously' or immigration prisoners after the fire at the Directorate General of Immigration (ex Sentra Mulia) Building in South Jakarta, Thursday morning at around 10.48 WIB."It has been evacuated to the Immigration Detention Center in Kalideres," said the Coordinator of Public Relations of the Secretariat General of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights Tubagus Erif Faturrahman when contacted in Jakarta, Antara, Thursday, December 8.The transfer of the 'deteni' was to anticipate the loss of life due to the building fire which is currently also used as a storage warehouse for State Property (BMN).Meanwhile, Acting Director General of Immigration at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights Widodo Ekatjahjana said the fire caused immigration services such as the visa approval process, approval of residence permits to M-Passports to be hampered."The initial point of the fire was on the 5th floor. The Directorate General of Immigration is conducting further checks regarding the cause of the fire," said Widodo.He said the employees of the Directorate General of Immigration were immediately evacuated out of the building and continued their work from their respective homes. "Alhamdulillah, the immigration documents were rescued, no immigration documents were destroyed.
