The Regency Government Asks Residents To Not Mining Stone Apung In The Central Lombok Motorcycle Circuit Area
The Central Lombok Regency Government (Pemkab) appealed to residents not to carry out floating stone mining activities in the ring of the 459 motorcycle circuit in Lantan Village, North Batukliang District (BKU).
"The mining must be stopped, because the circuit is being repaired for the motorcycle cross championship racing event which will take place from 17-18 December," said Central Lombok Regional Secretary, Lalu Firman Wijaya in Praya, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), Thursday, December 8, confiscated by Antara.
With the current repair of the circuit track, his party appealed to residents not to mine floating stones in the circuit area and its surroundings.
"The improvement of the Lantan cross motor circuit is currently in the process of making drainage channels, so that water does not flow to residential areas during the rainy season," he said.
His party could not deny that at this time residents were still scrambling to take floating stones in the former excavation which were made using heavy equipment in the circuit area. Residents admitted that they were still mining floating stones to meet their needs and hoped that they would still be allowed to mine floating stones after the upcoming motor cross.
"Stay at this time for the miners, we urge you not to mine in the circuit area and supporting areas and we have closed it," he said.
Heavy equipment is currently moving to carry out cleaning and various preparations for the track are still ongoing. So that the local government deployed two heavy equipment or excavators.
One heavy equipment focuses on repairing tracks and one other tool to prepare a set event place.
"Seeing the progress of only about 250 meters from the track length of 1.4 kilometers," he said.
