DHF Cases In Tangsel Are Increasing, Residents Are Asked To Do This

SOUTH TANGERANG has increased cases of dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) in South Tangerang City. The results of the VOI data collection showed that in 2021 there were 437 cases. And until November 2022, there was an increase to 695 cases.

As stated by the Mayor of Tangerang, Benyamin Davnie, it has not been a year since the increase in cases of dengue fever reached 1.5 percent.

From January to November 20 yesterday, there were 695 dengue sufferers. So it's not been a year that the number has been 1.5 times the number", said Benjamin Davnie in South Tangerang recently.

To reduce this number, he asked independent larvae monitoring in homes to be promoted.

Meanwhile, the South Tangerang City Health Office (Dinkes) invites the public to implement clean and healthy living behavior (PHBS).

The head of the South Tangerang Health Office, Dr. Allin Hendalin Mahdaniar, said that his party continues to promote the monitoring of larvae through the Jumantics program. And not only that, but Dr. Allin also asked the public to keep in mind 3M Plus because currently the rainfall is quite high in the city of South Tangerang.

"We still have to be aware, especially since the rainfall is high. Do not let the shelter places become mosquito nests. Remember 3M (deplete closing, recycling and avoiding mosquito bites)," said Dr. Allin in a written statement, Wednesday, December 7.

According to Dr. Allin, the synergy between the community and the local Health Office in order to eradicate the Aedes Aegypti mosquito must be established. Therefore, he often reminds the public to be independent in protecting the environment and monitoring the source of larvae.

"Don't just rely on Jumantik cadres. Anyway, we intensify the program. Because basically there must be that. Jumantik cadres also continue to carry out checks at residents' homes. Right now, it can't depend on cadres. Every family must have one larva monitoring, they must empower them in 1 family, "he asked.

Meanwhile, the Head of Disease Control and Eradication at the South Tangerang City Health Office, dr. Adhy Purnawan added, the transition from heat to rain is often accompanied by the breeding of the Aedes Aegypti mosquito which causes dengue disease.

One of the prevention, said Adhy, by regulating the Clean and Healthy Lifestyle (PHBS) of the community is expected to suppress the spread of mosquitoes carrying the dengue virus.

"PHBS at home, all residents must be jumantik cadres in their homes to avoid dengue fever," he concluded.
