Update COVID-19 as of December 7: 3,744 New Cases, 4,179 Recoveries Increase

JAKARTA - The COVID-19 Handling Task Force released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 today. A total of 73,982 specimens were examined with the results of 3,744 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 6,868,181 people and active cases have decreased by 480 to 47,660 cases", he was quoted as saying from Task Force data, Wednesday, December 7.

The province with the highest number of new cases was DKI Jakarta with 1,248 cases and a total of 1,525,055 cases. Followed by West Java with 896 new cases with a total of 1,223,912 cases. East Java had 405 new cases and a total of 633,489 cases. Then, Banten had 384 new cases and a total of 361,904 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an additional 1,425 recovered cases. Followed by West Java with an additional 627 recovered cases, Banten with an additional 535 recovered cases, and East Java with an additional 445 recovered cases.

In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigen reached 112,835,077.

"The positive results per number of people examined or the positivity rate of people this week is 12.16 percent", he wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or currently categorized as suspected cases is 5,554 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had COVID-19 cases.

To date, 203,745,204 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 174,323,143 people have received the second dose of vaccination.

While the third dose of vaccination was 67,150,711 and the fourth dose was 939,537. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 234,666,020 people.
