JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) noted that the tidal flood, which previously submerged 4 RTs in North Jakarta, has now receded."BPBD noted that until Tuesday at 13.20 WIB, all inundation in the DKI Jakarta area had receded," said Head of BPBD DKI Jakarta Isnawa Adji, Tuesday, December 6.Isnawa said this condition occurred thanks to collaborative efforts carried out by the ranks of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government across the SKPD had deployed the following personnel with supporting equipment such as mobile pumps to suck up puddles and ensure water lines were functioning properly."The role of the community elements is also involved in this effort, such as the RT/RW, FKDM, and other community leaders," said Isnawa.Previously, as of 11.00 WIB, it was observed that the tidal flood was at 2 RTs in Pluit Village with water levels reaching 20 centimeters, and 2 RTs in Marunda Village with water levels reaching 35 centimeters.The tidal flood is predicted to hit from 6 to 28 December. This information is based on the latest data obtained by the Tanjung Priok Maritime Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG).The coastal areas of DKI Jakarta such as Kamal Muara, Kapuk Muara, Penjaringan, Pluit, Ancol, Kamal, Marunda, Cilincing, and Kalibaru are advised to be aware of the increase in the maximum sea level which has the potential to cause coastal flooding.BPBD DKI revealed that the potential for tidal flooding in the six urban villages located in North Jakarta occurred in line with sea level rise."The existence of tidal activity together with the new moon phase affects coastal dynamics that have the potential to cause coastal flooding or tidal flooding," said Isnawa.
