West Java (Jabar) Governor M Ridwan Kamil asked the public to be careful and alert to misinfiormation, disinformation and misleading hoaxes. For example, with the distribution of videos of earthquake events in Cianjur but labeled as Garut earthquakes."The public should be wise in responding to the amount of hoax information that labels the incident of the Cianjur earthquake with the Garut earthquake," said Governor Ridwan Kamil in a written statement received in Bandung, Antara, Sunday, December 4.Governor Ridwan Kamil stated that the 6.1 magnitude earthquake in Garut Regency on Saturday, December 3 afternoon did not cause any casualties. It was reported that two people who suffered minor injuries and had received treatment from local health center officers. The damage caused by the earthquake was reported not too severe.Governor Ridwan Kamil stated that he had received a report from the Garut Regency Government, and the contents of the report seemed to have nothing to worry about.Based on Public Relations data from the Garut Regency Government, based on a report from the Garut District Health Office, the number of residents affected by the earthquake was 15 people from 6 families in Pakenjeng, Cikelet, Selaawi, and Cisewu Districts.The Garut Regency Health Office and BPBD have recorded several damaged houses, namely in Ciroyom Village (Cikelet) one house, Central Lembur Village (Selaawi) one house, Sukajaya Village Village Village (Cisewu) one house, and Jatiwangi Village (Pakenjeng) one elementary school building moderately damaged.Rescue workers have also established refugee camps and emergency posts. The BKMG stated that the earthquake had no potential for a tsunami.
