Happy News For Migrant Workers! BP2MI Calls The Government To Prepare KUR To IDR 100 Million

INDRAMAYU - Head of the Indonesian Migrant Workers Protection Agency (BP2MI) Benny Rhamdani said the government was present to provide services to prospective Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI) who would go abroad by providing a People's Business Credit (KUR) ceiling of IDR 100 million."The state is preparing a loan from a bank that can be accessed by PMI candidates," said Benny in Indramayu, West Java, Antara, Sunday, December 4.According to him, the provision of KUR with an interest rate of 6 percent per year is the presence of the state in order to ease the number of PMI candidates who will go abroad.Benny said that so far many PMI candidates who when leaving must sell their property, for costs, and it often makes the family at home heavier.In addition, Benny continued, it is not uncommon for PMI candidates who have to borrow from moneylenders, as well as recruiters, so that it is burdensome for migrant workers to pay for them, because they have to return them with higher interest rates."When leaving, do not sell family assets for the cost of becoming PMI, and there is no need to borrow from moneylenders, the state prepares money loans through PMI KUR with a total ceiling of IDR 100 million interest 6 percent per year," he said.He added that KUR payments can be made during working period abroad, so that migrant workers can be lighter.Benny said that apart from providing services in the form of KUR for PMI, BP2MI is also exploring cooperation with the Ministry of PUPR in order to prepare a house for migrant workers.So that when returning to the hometown of migrant workers already have a proper place to live, and this is the state's commitment to protecting foreign exchange fighters."We are trying to provide housing for PMIs, and hopefully it can be realized as soon as possible," he said.
