Seven people were reported dead and dozens injured after a bus group of tourists from Semarang, Central Java, rolled into a 20-meter deep ravine on Jalan Raya Sarangan, Plaosan District, Magetan Regency, East Java, Sunday, December 4."Temporary data on seven victims died, including the driver. Regarding the exact cause, we are still investigating. Currently, we are focusing on evacuating and handling the victims first," said Magetan Police Chief AKBP Muhammad Ridwan in Magetan, East Java, Antara, Sunday, December 4 evening.The process of evacuating victims is difficult because the bus carcass is in a ravine. In addition, the condition of the bus driver is in a state of pinch so that the joint officers need more than two hours to evacuate.The Semeru Putra Transindo bus with police number H-1470-AG was carrying dozens of passengers who were about to go to Sarangan Cave, Magetan.The bus allegedly suffered brake damage, so the driver lost control while going through a steep descent route from the direction of Tawangmangu, Karanganyar, Central Java, to Magetan.The bus then hit an iron barrier and entered a ravine. The seven victims who died and dozens of injured have been evacuated to Sayidiman Magetan Hospital and the Plaosan Health Center.The accident case is still being handled by the Traffic Unit (Satlantas) of the Magetan Police for further handling.
