Cianjur Regency Government Builds Earthquake-Resistant Example Houses In Nagrak

JABAR - The Cianjur Regency Government (Pemkab) built a type 36 earthquake-resistant example house for a family in Nagrak Village, Cianjur District. The construction was carried out so that it could be imitated by residents who re-established their homes after being affected by the Cianjur earthquake on November 21, 2022.

"Residents whose houses were heavily damaged or collapsed will be built by the government, for those who can afford it and their houses collapsed can build themselves and get Rp50 million in construction money," said Cianjur Regent, Herman Suherman, in Cianjur, West Java, Friday, December 2, confiscated by Antara.

He said the construction of houses affected by the earthquake would be carried out in areas that still deserve to be occupied in the Cianjur and Cugenang sub-districts as well as relocation areas in the Cilaku, Pacet, and Mande sub-districts.

In the first stage, he said, the construction of houses for residents affected by the relocated earthquake will be carried out in the Cilaku District area.

"We hope that residents who are relocated can immediately get a house and no longer live in a tent. The government will accelerate the construction of houses for relocated residents," he said.

According to government data, so far the earthquake that occurred on November 21, 2022 in the Cianjur Regency has killed 329 people and 11 people are missing and forced 114,414 people to flee.

The disaster was also recorded to have caused 4,376 houses to be heavily damaged, 5,306 houses moderately damaged, and 8,182 houses slightly damaged.
