The Revitalization Of Margonda's Trotoar Which Was Complained Of By Depok Residents Made Saban's Throat In The Morning And The Night Of Expenditure Budget IDR 23.5 Billion

Depok City revitalizes sidewalks on Margonda Street for arrangement with a cost allocation of IDR 23.5 billion.

"The revitalization of sidewalks on Jalan Margonda is a continuation of segment I and arrangement segment III," said Head of Depok City DPUPR Citra Indah Yulianty in Depok, Friday, December 2.

The continuation of the sidewalk segment I, starting from Jalan Dahlia to the Ramanda Mosque, is approximately 800 meters long. The point being carried out for segment III is the east side from the top of the Juanda bridge until before the BSI Campus.

While the west side starts from BNI before the Margonda Gasoline Pom reaches the Village Bumbu Restaurant.

"The total length of the sidewalk segment III that we have arranged is 4.8 km. For a width of 4 meters, except for the work of segment I, the sidewalk width is 3 meters. For segment III it is wider because there will be accessories that are used such as benches, balls and lights," he explained.

Citra said the work took place from September 6 to December 16, 2022.

Meanwhile, the Urban Policy Public Policy Research Institute assesses that sidewalk revitalization in Margonda is the right step to ensure the protection and rights of pedestrians in Depok City, West Java.

Despite causing pros and cons in society due to the congestion caused, Urban Policy assessed that sidewalk revitalization was the first step in shifting the culture of society, which was previously very sensitive to being oriented towards humans and pedestrians.

Urban Policy Director Nurfahmi Islami Kaffah said this was a step forward by the Depok Government. However, sidewalks are not independent policies, because they cannot be separated from the urgent arrangement of public transportation, to minimize the impact and acceleration of changes in people's behavior.
