Disappointed With Cristiano Ronaldo, Calvin Jeremy Transfers Support From Portugal To Saudi Arabia

JAKARTA - World Cup titles always attract a lot of attention, not except celebrities. Singer and actor Calvin Jeremy is one of the celebrities who also participated in the quadrennial event.

Claiming to be a Manchester United fan, Calvin Jeremy initially championed Portugal at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. However, because he was disappointed with Cristiano Ronaldo, who incidentally was the captain of the Portugal national team as well as a former MU player, Calvim wanted to see Portugal fail.

"I like Portugal, but because Ronaldo broke my heart as a Manchester United fan twice, first he went to Real Madrid, now he is a whistle blower and finally fired from MU, I want to see Portugal fail at this World Cup," said Calvin Jeremy aaat when met in the SCBD area, South Jakarta, Wednesday, November 30.

In the end, Calvin decided to support three countries from Asia in this World Cup. Although he knows that Asian countries are difficult to win, he hopes the supported countries can do much in Qatar.

"So, I support Saudi Arabia, Japan or Korea (South Korea). It won't be a champion, but it will go far and make me watch it even more exciting," he said.

Currently, the three Asian countries supported by Calvin Jeremy still have the opportunity to advance to the round of 16. Especially for Saudi Arabia and Japan, the two countries had surprised football lovers by their appearance in the group phase.

Saudi Arabia managed to beat the leading country, Argentina with a score of 1-2 on 22 November. Meanwhile, Japan also managed to beat a country that has won the World Cup four times, Germany with a score of 1-2 on 23 November.

In the final group stage match, Saudi Arabia will face Mexico on December 1, Japan will face Spain on December 2 and South Korea will face Portugal on December 2.
