Bela Messi Of Canelo Alvarez's Threat, Mike Tyson: If You Touch Him I'll Go Back To The Ring
JAKARTA - World boxing legend Mike Tyson defended Argentine soccer star Lionel Messi received threats from boxer Saul Canelo Alvarez.
The threat came after Messi's match was deemed harassing Mexico in the dressing room after the match at the 2022 World Cup.
Quoted from BBO Sport, Mike Tyson did not remain silent in responding to the threats that came. He openly defended Messi by responding to Canelo's threat.
"A person named Canelo threatens (Lionel) Messi. If he (Canelo) dares to touch it, I will return to the ring in a few years," Tyson was quoted as saying by BBO Sports, Wednesday, November 30.
Canelo previously expressed his anger at Messi who was deemed disrespectful of the Mexican national team jersey.
In the video circulating, Messi is celebrating Argentina's victory over Mexico in the dressing room. Near where Messi sat there was a Mexican green jersey that was seen next to his feet.
"They saw him (Lionel Messi) cleaning the floor with our clothes and flags?? He should have prayed to God that I didn't meet him," Canelo tweeted.
"Just as I respect Argentina, you have to respect Mexico!! I'm not talking about the country, I'm talking about Messi because of the harassment he's making," Canelo wrote in another tweet.
Tyson isn't the only big star to defend Messi, before there was another figure who was also willing to sign up for La Pulga from Canelo's threats such as Sergio Aguero, Cesc Fabregas, and Andres Guardado.
