KPU Finds The Names Of The TNI, Polri And ASN In Kotabaru South Kalimantan Entering Political Parties

SOUTH KALIMANTAN - At least 50 names of members of the TNI-Polri, state civil servants (ASN), and active village heads in South Kalimantan (Kalsel) are registered in the membership of political parties (political parties).

Chairman of the General Election Commission (KPU) Kotabaru, Zaenal Abidin, said the findings were based on the results of factual verification of political parties by KPU officers in the field.

"The number is around 50 cases. After factual verification, they were surprised and did not feel that they were members of a political party," said Zaenal in South Kalimantan, Wednesday, November 30, as reported by Antara.

The Kotabaru KPU has verified factually 1,773 samples from 13,352 people submitted by 23 political party administrators in the area. Zaenal admitted that he did not understand how these active members of the TNI, Polri, ASN and village heads could be registered as members of political parties.

"Because the data collection or entering data is done manually by the political party operator into the Political Party Information System (Sipol) application. The KPU is only a user of the data, which is then carried out factual verification of the truth," explained Zaenal.

Based on these findings, political parties are still given time to improve the results of factual verification until December 7, 2022.

Meanwhile, a member of the Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) of Kotabaru Regency, Faturrahman, explained that his party hopes that political parties can make maximum use of the repair time.

"It should really be used for this moment of improvement to improve the results of the factual verification findings carried out by the KPU," said Faturrahman.
