How To Enable Camera Privacy Indicators In Windows 11
JAKARTA - To notify users that the camera system is on, most modern Windows laptops and desktops are equipped with a web camera that also has a special LED indicator.
However, some devices are not equipped with such an LED. To increase privacy on the computer, Microsoft has made notifications across systems that appear when the camera is turned on or off.
However, if the LED on your laptop is no longer working or you want an additional warning, here's how to activate the Windows 11 hidden camera privacy indicator.
1. Press Win + R and type regedit to launch the Windows Registry Editor. You can also use Windows Search or other selected methods.
2. While in PeninjauASAN Registri, attach the following code to the address bar: Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\OEM\Device\Capture.
3. Then, the command will let you get the necessary registries key without getting lost in Windows Registry.
4. Find the NoPhysicalCameraLED data value and open it. If there is no such data value, click Edit then New and select DWORD and change the name of the new data value to NoPhysicalCameraLED.
5. Open and change the data value from 0 (default) to 1. Then turn on your computer again.
It should be noted, if you change the NoPhysicalCameraLED data value from 0 to 1 it will make your computer think it doesn't have physical indicators for the camera scenario, forcing the operating system to display Camera On and Camera Off notifications when something gets access to built-in or external cameras.
Note that changing the data value does not affect the LED, it will still work regardless of the data value. If you want to disable the Windows 11 camera privacy notification, repeat everything above and change the data value from 1 to 0 in step 4. This is quoted from Neowin, Tuesday, November 29.
