Horror Film Debut Through Corrin, Omar Daniel Express HisENTial Role
JAKARTA - A young actor, Omar Daniel will appear in the latest horror film, Corin' which premiered in theaters on December 1. In his horror film debut, Omar played Ustadz Jaelani who led a women's boarding school.
Playing in a horror film for the first time, the actor who was born on April 9, 1995 considered the opportunity he got a new challenge for him. Although he had doubts at first, Omar admitted that he had to go through a lot of preparations for his role.
"Obviously (had doubts), I don't want the horror film to be the same as other horror films. I want it to show something different, which gives me colors, because in my opinion, this film carries an extraordinary theme, there is an important mission that is conveyed. We also read the preparations and workshops, from starting to read physical characters and others," said Omar Daniel after a press conference in the Epicentrum area, South Jakarta, Monday, November 28.
Claiming to be a horror film lover since childhood, Omar said he was happy to finally get the opportunity to play. However, he revealed that it takes extra effort to be able to play his role well.
"There are a lot of (difficults) of course, filming co-starring with bloody conditions, with difficult make-up, especially since the softlanse is also quite large and quite painful in the eyes. Then also the character has to play human but on the other hand as a qorine whose voice is different, his behavior is different," he said.
In addition, Omar Daniel also talked about his chemistry with Dea Annisa. In Qorin, the character Ustadz Jaelani, played by Omar Daniel, has a wife named Umi Hana, played by Dea Annisa. Omar also said that it took a long time to get chemistry with Dea.
"The reading and workshop process is quite long, so we often meet every time. Kak Gita (director) is also open to explore, and the person is very direct, until there is a reading process (between) me, Dea and Kak Gita to describe the husband and wife being rich," said Omar.
Regarding the characters that appear in the trailer, such as the antagonist role in Qorin, Omar has a different assumption. "Actually, everything has a cause, yes, Ustadz Jaelani can't be called an antagonist either, so just watch it," he concluded.
