On The Third Day Of The Search For Police Helicopters In Babel, SAR Will Require 3 Underwater Detection Ships

The joint SAR team deployed three underwater detection vessels in the process of searching for the BO-105 helicopter with code P-1103 belonging to the Water and Air Police Corps (Polairud) of the Police Security Maintenance Agency (Baharkam).

The helicopter lost contact in the waters of Manggar, East Belitung, Bangka Belitung Islands (Babel).

"On the third day of the search for victims of this unfortunate helicopter, we relied on these three underwater detectors," said Head of Basarnas Babel, I Made Oka Astawa, in Manggar, Babel, Tuesday, November 29 morning, confiscated by Antara.

He said the three underwater detection vessels deployed were KM Quin (pottables on a Pushidrosal fishing boat) equipped with MBES (Multi Beam Echo Sounder), SSS (Side Scan Sonar) and Magnetometer.

Furthermore, KRI SPICA is equipped with MBES, SSS, Magnetometer, ROV (if ready), and finally the Basarnas rubber boat is equipped with sophisticated equipment such as UWSD, aqua eye and diving.

"Today, the search for three victims, namely AKP Arif Rahman Saleh (pilot), First Brigadier Moch. Lasminto (co-pilot), Bripka Joko Mudo (technic) is more focused on the waters of Bathing Bird which is not far from being found by one victim on behalf of Bripda Muhammad Khoirul Anam (technical) on Monday (28/11) morning," he said.

According to him, in optimizing the search for these three victims, the joint SAR team also deployed eight Search Rescue Units (SRU) units, namely SRU KP-2002, SRU 2 KP-1403, SRU 3 KP-1401, SRU 4 KP-1402, SRU 5 KM RIZKI, SRU 6 KP-1203, SRU 7 KP-KETAPANG, RIB 1008.

"The eight SRUs deployed are focused on finding victims above the water level and it is hoped that by optimizing the search for victims on the 3rd day, they can produce maximum results," he said.
