Secretary General Of PDIP Calls Jokowi's Circle Not Knowing Volunteer Elites Have Many Interests
Secretary General of the PDI-P (PDIP) Hasto Kristiyanto said that many people within President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) did not know that the elite of volunteer groups actually had many agendas. They usually want something and don't hesitate to threaten.
This was conveyed by Hasto criticizing the implementation of the United Nusantara event at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (SUGBK) which was attended by President Jokowi on Saturday, November 26.
"Many around President Jokowi do not understand that the volunteer elite is a collection of various interests," said Hasto in a written statement quoted on Monday, November 28.
Hasto said that President Jokowi's leadership is now an inspiration for the world. Moreover, thanks to the successful implementation of the G20 Summit in Bali some time ago.
However, he saw that there were groups who wanted to reduce Jokowi's success. In fact, there are volunteer elites who do not hesitate to threaten if their group's wishes are not obeyed.
"It seems that the elite volunteers are willing to take everything if they don't fulfill their wishes they threaten to disperse, but if they are met, the elite will carry out a lot of manipulation," he said.
Hasto regretted the existence of the Nusantara Bersatu event. He hoped that this kind of incident would not happen again, especially since the mobilization of the masses was allegedly carried out in an unhealthy way.
He also advised people around Jokowi not to act carelessly. They must move together to ensure that this government works not to maneuver power but to the community.
"The PDI-P appeals to the ring of one President Jokowi not to act as long as you are happy (ABS) and really fight hard that Pak Jokowi's leadership, who is rich in achievements, is already on the track. Even Pak Jokowi's achievements are for the Indonesian nation and the world, not for small groups who continue to maneuver power," said Hasto.
"What happened to the Nusantara Bersatu event has become a very important political lesson. Especially in the way of mobilization until ways are carried out to promise something unhealthy," he continued.
As previously reported, volunteers supporting Jokowi gathered at SUGBK on Saturday, November 26. In this activity, President Jokowi was present and had mentioned several things in his remarks, including choosing a leader who thinks about the people in the 2024 presidential election.
At that time, Jokowi said there were several characteristics of a populist leader. One of them is the wrinkles on his face and the white hair because he thinks about the people.
"I need to convey... I need to convey... The leader who thinks about the people is visible from his face. It can be seen from his appearance, there are many wrinkles on his face because he thinks about the people. There are also those who think about the people until all of their hair is white, there is," said Jokowi.
