Prosecutors Will Call Paksa 2 Propam Members Who Mangkir 3 Times At The Hendra Kurniawan-Agus Nurpatra Session

JAKARTA - The Public Prosecutor (JPU) will forcibly present two witnesses who are members of the National Police. The two of them did not fulfill the summons three times to testify at the trial of the obstruction of justice case with the defendants Hendra Kurniawan and Agus Nurpatra.

The witnesses were Ridate Hermawa and Agus. Both are members of the Propam Division.

"Other witnesses (Ridate Hermawa and Agus, ed) We will summon them forcibly. Because we have contacted the direct supervisor of the investigation director of the Police Headquarters, it is ready like that," said one of the prosecutors at the trial at the South Jakarta District Court, Thursday, November 24.

The defendants Hendra Kurniawan and Agus Nurpatra, Henry Yosodiningrat, agreed on the decision. This is because the two witnesses are considered to know many things in the obstruction of justice case.

"Why do we really need to be faced because it's like Radite, we've read it, this witness is factual. It's not because he doesn't know anything and the information comes from investigators," said Henry.

So, he continued, the statements of the two witnesses needed to be tested for truth in court.

"Therefore, we really think it is necessary for us to test the information," said Henry.

For information, Hendra Kurniawan and Agus Nurpatra were charged with obstructing the investigation into the premeditated murder case of Brigadier J. They took and replaced the CCTV DVR in the Police Complex, Duren Tiga.

Thus, they were charged with violating Article 49 in conjunction with Article 33 subsidiary Article 48 paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 32 paragraph (1) of the ITE Law Number 19 of 2016 and/or Article 233 of the Criminal Code subsidiary Article 221 paragraph (1) to 2 in conjunction with Article 55 of the Criminal Code.
