Praying To Victims Of Earthquakes In Cianjur, BMKG: Hoax Every Time Ahead Of An Anniversary Night, The Point Is That Heboh-heboh Don't Trust

JAKARTA - Head of BMKG Dwikorita Karnawati reminded the public, especially residents affected by the Cianjur earthquake, to be aware of hoaxes. According to him, hoaxes related to disasters often appear before night.

"Just to remind, the hoax is always milling about every night," he said at the latest press conference on the handling of the Cinjur earthquake, quoted from the BNPB Indonesia YouTube channel, Wednesday, November 23.

He also discussed hoaxes that developed in the community after the Cianjur earthquake. The hoax was related to the issue of the movement of fault faults in the Cimandiri fault and the estimated large earthquake in the Cirata Reservoir area.

Dwikorita said the hoax spreader even used voice notes or voice messages narrated from BMKG to be quickly trusted.

"Yesterday there was a voice who conveyed that the BMKG regarding the fault in the Cirata Reservoir would move, about the time it was not known, it could not be predicted. Hoaxes," he said.

He also emphasized that information related to disasters only came from government agencies.

"The point is that if it's dramatic, there's a commotion, you don't have to believe it, just trust BMKG information while still praying to God Almighty," he concluded.
