Residents Of Homes Damaged Due To Debrising Earthquakes In Relatives Get Government Money Assistance
Head of BNPB Suharyanto ensured that residents of victims of the Cianjur earthquake whose houses were heavily damaged received money assistance from the government. However, there are conditions that must be met.
He said the money assistance was named a residential waiting fund. BNPB has offered residents affected by the Cianjur earthquake to enjoy the funds provided that they evacuate to relatives or relatives' homes.
"For example, there are still uncles or aunts in Cipanas, or still in Cianjur Regency but not affected, in the city for example. Want to ride temporarily, it is assisted by the government. They can name them residential waiting funds." Suharyanto said in a press conference for handling the latest Cinjur earthquake, quoted from the BNPB Indonesia YouTube channel, Wednesday, November 23.
He said that the aid funds would be disbursed by BNPB until the process of replacing houses damaged by the earthquake had been completed by the government.
"Until when? Until finished and can be occupied by the new house built by the government," he said.
Suharyanto said that his party had communicated with the Cianjur Regent to immediately collect data so that the victim could quickly receive the benefits of residential waiting funds.
In the data collection process, Suharyanto advised the Cianjur Regency Government to empower RT, RW, Camat to the Regional Apparatus Work Unit (SKPD). "There are two universities that also assist," he added.
Based on the experience of handling the Mount Semeru disaster last year, Suharyanto said it would take eight years until finally the damaged houses built by the government could be occupied by affected residents.
According to him, the construction of damaged houses after the Cianjur earthquake is estimated to be more than that because many were affected.
"If we look at what is damaged now, there are 20,000 houses that are heavily damaged," he said.
