Inspector General Teddy Minahasa Withdraws BAP, Says Evidence of Methamphetamine Has Been Stolen And Circulated in Jakarta
JAKARTA - The suspect in the narcotics case, Inspector General Teddy Minahasa, has decided to withdraw all information that has been recorded in the examination procedure file (BAP). The reason is that the 5 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine are claimed to have nothing to do with the former West Sumatra Police Chief.
"Today, Teddy Minahasa in his BAP stated that he had withdrawn all BAP as suspects, both the first and second BAP, and also revoked the BAP that was given as a witness for suspect Doddy and suspect Linda", said Teddy Minahasa's attorney, Hotman Paris to reporters, Friday, November 18th.
Initially, in the BAP, it was said that Teddy ordered AKBP Doddy Prawiranegara to take some of the evidence for methamphetamine. The goal is to trap the suspect Linda.
According to Hotman, the facts are not like that. It all started when AKBP Doddy Prawiranegara reported the disclosure of a case of 41.4 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine.
However, when the case was revealed to the public, it turned out that the evidence for methamphetamine only weighed 39.5 kilograms.
"This means that from before the release, 1.9 kilograms of this evidence had been lost. There, Teddy began to suspect that someone had stolen 1.9 kilograms and this is suspected to be circulating in Jakarta", he said.
In fact, of the tens of kilograms reported to Teddy, most have been destroyed. Meanwhile, the rest is given to the Prosecutor's Office as evidence in the trial.
For that reason, Hotman said his client was not involved in the distribution of methamphetamine which was the subject of the case. It was also the basis for the two-star general to withdraw his entire BAP.
"All the evidence that is used as the object, in this case, has nothing to do with Teddy Minahasa because the evidence confiscated in that case is still intact", said Hotman.
