After 2 Pharmaceutical Companies Became Suspects Of The Sirop Drug Cemmaran Case, The Police Criminal Investigation Unit Will Check The PG Supplier
Investigators from the National Police's Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim) will deepen the supplier of Glikol Propilen (PG) for the manufacture of sirop drugs to PT Afi Farma Pharmaceutical Industry.
"Investigators will investigate the possibility of an alleged supplier or supplier of other PG for drug manufacturing to PT Afi Farma," said Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police Inspector General Dedi Prasetyo in a written statement, Thursday, November 17.
In addition, Bareskrim investigators will also conduct witness and expert examinations, as well as analyze the documents found.
"After completing the case file, it will then be transferred to the prosecutor," he said.
Currently, Bareskrim Polri investigators have examined 41 people. 31 of them are witnesses and 10 are experts.
Previously, the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police named two pharmaceutical companies as suspects behind the case of acute kidney failure in children due to sirop drugs. The two companies are PT Afi Farma and CV Samudera Chemical.
"The two corporate suspects are PT A and CV SC," said Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police Inspector General Dedi Prasetyo in his statement, Thursday, November 17.
The two companies were named suspects for producing drugs or distributing pharmaceutical preparations that did not meet standards and/or requirements for safety, efficacy or benefit and quality.
