Budget Telan Rp3.5 Billion, Provincial Government Of DKI Revitalization 11 MCK Communal

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government will revitalize 11 facilities for bathing, washing and toilets or communal toilets in five areas in the capital city. The 11 MCK revitalization budget reaches IDR 3.5 billion.

Secretary of the DKI Jakarta Water Resources Service (SDA), Dudi Gardesi, said this effort was in order to support the realization of the sanitation of a decent and safe community.

"This program is expected to meet the needs of adequate and safe sanitation access for the community," said Dudi in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Wednesday, November 16.

The DKI SDA Agency is trying to handle it so that communal domestic wastewater from MCK does not pollute the environment, one of which is by revitalizing wastewater treatment.

The construction of the communal toilet was carried out in stages and currently construction has been completed in seven locations.

The rest, only four points are still in the construction stage with a target completion by the end of November 2022.

The SDA Office noted that the total budget for the communal 11 MCK revitalization reached Rp. 3.5 billion. With details of physical development reaching Rp. 2.85 billion and supervision of Rp. 650 million.

There are also 11 communal MCK locations located in Central Jakarta, namely Jalan Kebon Sirih Barat 1, Gudang Material Sunter Kemayoran Sudin SDA, then in North Jakarta covering the SDA Sub-Department of Steam Ketel, land around Jalan Lorong 18 Koja, and the Plumpang Taman Sudin SDA Pump House.

Furthermore, in West Jakarta, namely on land around settlements RT002/RW04 Pinangsia, the SDA Kebon Jeruk Command Post (Perumben Post), the Dumptruck Post at the Susilo Pump House, the NN Cengkareng Pump House.

Then in South Jakarta on land around settlements of RW 03, Tanjung Barat Village and in East Jakarta in settlements of RT 001/RW06 Jatinegara.

Previously, at a plenary meeting that scheduled the delivery of the views of factions in the DKI DPRD regarding the 2023 Regional Budget Draft, Wednesday, November 9, representatives of the Gerindra Party faction of the DKI DPRD, Thopaz Nugraha Syamsul, revealed that the findings of as many as 770 thousand DKI residents were still doing open defecations.

"According to data from the DKI Provincial Health Office in 2021, it is stated that there are still 770 thousand Jakarta residents who defecate carelessly or open defecate," he said.

For this reason, his party asked for the strengthening of the budget for Perumda for the Jaya Wastewater Management (PAL) which was allocated in the provision of communal septic tanks.

The provision of tanks, he continued, was directed at densely populated and slum residential areas.
