B20 Summit Successfully Present Communike For Inclusive Economic Recovery
BALI Business leaders from G20 countries that are members of B20 Indonesia have agreed to submit a policy review final (communique) of President Jokowi as the Steering Committee for the Indonesian G20 Presidency.
The aspirations and input from the global business community through B20 as the G20 business engagement in the form of a policy recommendation are reflected in the B20 Community as a form of joint B20 statement that will be conveyed to the public and summarize priority issues that become a consensus with B20.
As one of the leading engagement groups of the G20, B20 has a big role in determining the direction of global economic policy after the pandemic, especially in G20 countries through the G20 Summit. This communique contains a core summary of the views, directions and solutions of all task forces (TF) and B20 action conferences that have worked to formulate policy recommendations throughout 2022.
B20 Indonesia has prepared B20 Communique, a document that summarizes all policy recommendations, policy actions and legacy programs to be submitted to the G20 Summit so that it can be adopted and implemented by the G20.
In the keynote speech at B20 Summit, Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) expressed his optimism regarding Indonesia's economic recovery even though the pandemic has caused disruption to the global economic order.
"It turned out that 10 months later there was a war crisis, there was a food crisis, there was an energy and financial crisis. But we are grateful, Indonesia in the second quarter still grew 5.44 percent and in the third quarter grew 5.72 percent. Inflation is also under control. President Jokowi also emphasized the addition of three major strategies carried out by Indonesia in dealing with global economic challenges such as pandemics, food crises, energy and the economy. These include through downstreaming industry, green economy development, aka green energy, and digitalization.
Our green economy or new renewable energy potential is around 434 thousand MW. All natural potentials from the sun, water, wind are all there. President Jokowi also emphasized the importance of MSMEs collaborating with large companies to encourage the acceleration of digitalization.
It was recorded that 19 million MSMEs entered digital platforms and were targeted to reach 30 million MSMEs by 2024.
Meanwhile, Chair of B20 Indonesia, Shinta Kamdani emphasized that the policy recommendation generated by B20 for the G20 is an important contribution from Indonesia to the recovery of the global economy.
