DKI Proposes A Grant Budget Of Up To IDR 485 Billion For The Transportation Agency To The TNI-Polri, DPRD: Do Not Enter Others

Member of Commission B of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Gilbert Simanjuntak, questioned the amount of the grant budget proposed by the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency to the TNI-Polri regarding traffic. This budget is proposed in the draft APBD for the 2023 fiscal year. According to Gilbert, the application for a grant figure of Rp485 billion does not make sense. This was revealed by Gilbert in the discussion of the DKI RAPBD for the 2023 fiscal year with the ranks of the DKI Provincial Government at the Grand Cempaka Resort and Convention, Bogor, West Java."What's a bit annoying for me, why is it so big that we give the funds to the non-provincial government of DKI in this case the Regional Police, all kinds of things. Almost half a trillion. What's the basis? It doesn't make sense," Gilbert said, Friday, November 11.In fact, Gilbert continued, the agencies that received these grants also received a budget from the central government. Better, he continued, the allocation of the APBD is more channeled to programs that are beneficial for Jakarta residents."After all, they got their own budget from the center. If it's that big, what's it for? This budget is a people's tax, it should be returned to a sector that really helps the community," Gilbert said. For information, the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency has proposed a budget of IDR 485.40 billion for grants to members of the DKI Regional Leadership Communication Forum (Forkopimda). In detail, there are grants for procurement, installation, repair, and maintenance of road equipment in the context of traffic management and engineering to be given to the Metro Jaya Police Chief in the amount of Rp75 billion. Then, grants for the procurement of operational or field official vehicles to Kodam Jaya Rp16 billion, to Mako Puspomal Rp7 billion, to Koopsudnas Rp79 billion, Commander Korem 052/Wijayakrama Rp1 billion, Kapolda Metro Jaya Rp130 billion, Wing Command I Kopasgat Rp11 billion, and Kodam Jaya/Korem 052 Wijayakrama Rp161 billion.
