Portugal's National Team Squad For Qatar 2022 World Cup: Association Of Young And Senior Players

JAKARTA - The Portugal national team has announced the squad for the Qatar 2022 World Cup. Coach Fernando Santos combines senior players with a number of their young players.

Experienced names such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Rui Patricio and Pepe are still being called up. Ronaldo has reportedly been appointed team captain.

These three players will guide young players such as Antonio Silva (19 years old), Nuno Mendes (20 years old), Vitinha (22 years old), Rafael Leao (23 years old), Joao Felix (23 years old) and Goncalo Ramos.

Antonio Silva's summons is arguably one of the surprises. So far, Santos is known to be reluctant to wear a "green still center back" centre-back.

That said, Sants finally melted after seeing the performance of the Benfica player when facing big matches such as the opponents of FC Porto, PSG and Juventus.

Meanwhile, as predicted, there is no name Diogo Jota. The player is still struggling with injury and is predicted to recover for a long time.

Meanwhile, Renato Sanches is no longer an option after rarely playing with his new club, Paris Saint-Germain.

The following is a list of the Portuguese national team players for Qatar's 2022 World Cup:

Goalkeeper: Diogo Costa (Porto), Rui Patricio (Roma), Jose Sa (Wolves).

Behind: Joao Cancelo (Manchester City), Diogo Dalot (Manchester United), Nuno Mendes (Paris Saint-Germain), Ruben Dias (Manchester City), Pepe (Porto), Raphael Guerreiro (Borussia Dortmund), Danilo Pereira (Paris Saint-Germain), Antonio Silva (Benfica)
