Kesah Marc Marquez After The MotoGP Test In Valencia: I Need More Something

JAKARTA - Repsol Honda racer, Marc Marquez has undergone a post-season test in Valencia after the 2022 MotoGP series. In the agenda which took place on Tuesday, November 8 at the Ricardo Tormo Circuit, Marquez completed 50 rounds.

On that occasion, Marquez passed the test by riding a prototype motorcycle or a motorcycle model that will be used by the factory team next season.

Marquez said the prototype motor he was using was still using the same machine as the one used in the 2022 series. However, there were slight modifications made in some parts.

"We tested a prototype motorcycle with a new aerodynamics and the same engine but with a few modifications, a different chassis," Marquez said as quoted by Crash on Wednesday, November 9.

Although smoothly passing 50 laps, Marquez actually conveyed his complaints. He felt that Honda's new motorbike still needed a lot of improvement to win the seventh MotoGP world title.

"There is no big difference. Only a few (changed), but we lost (some advantages) in different areas. In the end the performance of the motorbike became very similar. Of course I wanted something more (than the previous model), but it didn't exist," explained the Spaniard.

Even though Marquez admits that the motorbike he was riding still feels not right. He hopes the team from the Honda Racing Corporation can work better.

The most important thing is that Honda is working. I expect a big step in February in the next trial," said Marquez.

"I need more if we want to compete for world titles, or we won't be competing for championships," he continued.

Marquez completed the 2022 season with only 113 points to sit in 13th place in the final standings. However, Marquez remains the best Honda rider with a difference of 152 points from world champion Francesco Bagnaia.
