Homeless Consort Of Aibon Lem Who LIVEs In The BKB River Water Pipe Bridge Was Caught By Officers
JAKARTA - A number of homeless people sleeping under water pipes above the West Flood Canal (BKB) River, Jembatan Tinggi Street, Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta were caught in a raid by joint officers, Friday, November 4.
From the results of the search at the location, officers found sharp weapons and a number of sedatives.
"We did this raid because of complaints from the public because there were many buskers under the water pipe bridge," said Deputy Camat Tanah Abang, Dwiarti at the control location, Friday, November 4.
Dwiarti said, apart from bringing order to PMKS, his party also found sharp weapons, sedatives and several cans of Aibon glue. The items were immediately secured by three-pillar officers.
"This location is known to be used as a place to live by PMKS. We clean this location which is used as their place of residence," he said.
Dwiarti said that in the future his party will carry out surveillance at locations where there are no PMKS living in these locations. It should also be noted that this location also borders the South Bambu City Village, West Jakarta.
"The supervision of this location must be jointly with the South Bambu City and Tanah Abang sub-districts," he said.
All the homeless people who were secured were taken to a Social Institution in Central Jakarta by officers from the Central Jakarta Social Service Sub-dept.
Previously, it was reported that the water pipe bridge that crossed the West Flood Canal (BKB) River, Tanah Abang District, Central Jakarta was used as a place for street child buskers to live.
From Oni's statement (29), one of the traders around the location said that under the water pump pipe it was indeed used as a place for buskers to live. Their existence is also considered quite disturbing to the residents.
"There are more than 6 people who live there. They interfere with both men and women under one bed they make," he told reporters at the location, Thursday, November 3.
