Inevitably Asked By President Jokowi, Iwan Bule Calls The Demo Which Demands To Resign From The Chair Of The PSSI Chairman Mobilized
PSSI General Chair Mochamad Iriawan or familiarly known as Iwan Bule said the demonstration demanding he resign from his position was mobilized. He conveyed this when he was present as a guest on Deddy Corbuzier's podcast which aired on Wednesday, November 2. At that time, Iwan Bule was asked if he was willing to resign if the request came from President Joko Widodo. He then explained that this was impossible.
"Football has its own rules, he conveyed, and the Minister of Youth and Sports (Zainudin Amali) it is clear (conveying) the government will not intervene. So it is impossible for the president to intervene the General Chairperson to resign, it is impossible," he said.
He then continued, the massive pressure that asked him to resign was actually ridden by certain groups. He said, on a demonstration scale, there must be other people behind the scenes because it costs a fee.
"Those are some groups that we have difficulty identifying. How come there is a massive demonstration urging me to resign. If it is not mobilized, it is impossible. There are demonstrations that have prepared," he said.
The pressure to ask Iwan Bule to resign has been going on since the beginning of the Kanjuruhan tragedy. However, until now the retired high-ranking police officer is still in his position.
However, it is certain that his position will not last until the term of office in November 2023. This is after the emergence of an extraordinary congress plan (KLB) in March.
Currently, PSSI has sent a proposal to FIFA to hold the agenda. After receiving a reply from the parent international football, an ordinary congress will be held on January 7, 2023.
This regular congress is for the determination of the Election Committee (KP) and the Election Appeal Committee (KBP). The elected KP and KBP will work on preparing the stages for the KLB for the election of the general chairman, deputy chairman, and members of the executive committee, which is planned to be held on March 18, 2023.
