Prisoner Of Tanjungpinang Detention Center In Riau Islands Escapes
TANJUNGPINANG - Zul Fauzi Rahman, an inmate at the Tanjungpinang Class I Detention Center, Riau Islands (Kepri) managed to escape.
"It is true that one of our detainees escaped while in the outer courtyard of the detention center," said the Head of the Tanjungpinang Class I Detention Center, Eri Erawan, in his office, as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, November 2.
Eri explained that Zul Fauzi Rahman had been a companion prisoner (tamping) in the outer courtyard of the detention center since October 2022.
Initially, he was placed in a prison cell, but after being observed and based on the results of the assessment, he was finally trained outside the prison.
"At the time of the incident, there were two accompanying prisoners. But only Zul Fauzi Rahman escaped," said Eri.
According to him, he is a convict in a motorcycle embezzlement case. He has served half his prison term in September 2022 and will be free in May 2023.
However, according to him, the inmate is in the process of proposing to get conditional leave in December 2022.
"If they behave well during their detention period, they will be able to go home in December 2022," he said.
Eri said that his party had coordinated with the Tanjungpinang Police in searching for the whereabouts of inmate Zul Fauzi Rahman.
VOIR éGALEMENT:
He hopes that the inmates can be found soon, fearing that this incident could damage the spirits of the other 5,000 inmates of the Tanjungpinang Class I Rutan who are currently serving time in detention while trying to change into better individuals.
"Also, don't let it trigger trauma for the prison officers in training the detainees," he said.
Eri claimed full responsibility for the escape incident of inmate Zul Fauzi Rahman. He emphasized that he would always look for the person concerned until he was found.
He will also evaluate the prisoner development program, especially regarding the standard operating procedures (SOP) carried out by the prison.
"We will evaluate based on the findings of the Riau Islands Kemenkumham Regional Office, whether the prisoner development program from inside and outside is correct or not," he also said.
