Akhyar Nasution Returns To Acting Mayor Of Medan, Immediately Checks Drainage Instructs To Prevent Floods

JAKARTA - Acting Mayor of Medan Akhyar Nasution conducted drainage surveys at a number of points in Mabar Hilir Village, Medan Deli District. This review is carried out to ensure the condition of the drainage channel, if it is not good then normalization will be carried out so that the water can flow properly.

Accompanied by the Head of Public Works Office Zulfansyah, the first acting Mayor of Medan visited the drainage on Jalan Suasa Raya, precisely in front of Pasar Pekan. It can be seen that the drainage channel at that location is narrowing and there is a sendiment. Furthermore, Akhyar reviewed the drainage on Jalan Suasa Tengah, the same condition also happened to the drainage.

Akhyar ordered the Head of Public Works to record drainage points and immediately normalize and repair drainage so that water flow can flow normally. Especially in the current weather conditions it often rains, of course, the drainage channel must be good in order to reduce standing water.

"From the drainage point seen, it is necessary to add, repair and maintain drainage, so that water can flow properly. In addition, the roads around the drainage will also be repaired for the convenience of the community," said Akhyar as quoted from the Pemko Medan website, Tuesday, December 8. .

Furthermore, Akhyar and his entourage continued their observation at the Slaughterhouse Street, Mabar Hilir Village, Medan Deli District, to be precise under the Toll Road Bridge. At that location, there was a puddle of water which prevented vehicles from passing because the water did not flow into the drainage channel.

Seeing this condition, Akhyar explained that Pemko Medan has planned to widen the drainage which is right under the toll road.

In addition, it has also coordinated with the Ministry of PUPR, especially the Director General of Highways, considering that the drainage is located under the toll road with this widening, it is hoped that the water that has been stagnant can flow to the drainage.

"Currently, the drainage widening design already exists, we only need to get permission from the Ministry of PUPR, especially the Director General of Highways. If the permit has been obtained, work will be carried out immediately," said Akhyar.
