MALUKU - The case of alleged corruption in the Rombatu-Manusa road construction project, Inamosol District, West Seram Regency, Maluku Province, has risen to the level of investigation. State losses to this project are being investigated by the Maluku Attorney General's Office.

"The findings of elements of alleged corruption are in accordance with the results of expert assessments and the results of investigations in the form of data collection and information," said Assistant for Special Crimes at the Maluku Attorney General's Office, Triono Rahyudi, in Ambon, quoted from Antara, Monday, November 1.

In the process, the Prosecutor's Office cooperates with auditors to find out how much potential state financial loss is in this case which is currently being investigated.

After that, the Prosecutor's team of investigators together with auditors and construction experts will both go to the field to conduct physical checks on the project's work.

"For those who have been questioned as witnesses for now, there are more than 20 people, and those who have not come are only from BPKAD SBB Regency. The examination of this case is on a marathon basis," he said.

The road construction project that connects Rombatu to Manusa in Inamosol District for the 2018 fiscal year worth Rp31 billion has not been completed.

The dissatisfaction with the project made the Maluku People's Information and People's Fighters Community demonstrate that the stalled project should be investigated. They also made a report to the Prosecutor's Office for dissatisfaction with the project.

The mass action took place since the end of 2021 by visiting the Maluku Prosecutor's Office, the PUPR Service, and the West Seram Regency DPRD.

In their demands, the masses urged the Head of PUPR SBB, Thomas Wattimena, and the head of PT BSA as the contractor in the project to be transparent over the construction of the stalled road.
