PT PLN (Persero) officially operates the relocation of the Grati 1x100 megawatt (MW) Gas Power Plant (PLTG) from East Java to Pesanggaran, Bali.
The relocation of this power plant is carried out to strengthen the reliability of electricity supply in Bali which is the host of the G20 Summit.
PLN President Director Darmawan Prasodjo said efforts to complete the relocation were carried out with the hard work of PLN personnel to ensure the reliability of electricity supply in the G20 Summit.
According to him, this also answers the Government's trust in securing electricity supply in the implementation of the G20 Summit.
"PLN has been mandated to illuminate the country and also support the world level agenda, namely the G20 Summit on the Island of the Gods. We will oversee this agenda directly and we make sure it can be completed according to what has been planned," Darmawan said in an official statement received by VOI, Tuesday, November 1.
It is predicted that electricity needs during the G20 Summit will increase by 25 percent, from 846 MW to 980 MW during the G20 event.
"With the relocation of PLTG Grati to Pesanggaran, currently the PLN capacity for the Bali Subsystem is at 1,422 MW. This means that we still have 442 MW from the estimated maximum load for the G20 Summit. Currently, I am checking the preparation is ready to maintain the reliability of electricity," he added.
In addition to relocating the generator, PLN also ensures the reliability of transmission and distribution. Call it the strengthening of transmission, substations, rejuvenation of assessment equipment, and improvement of protection.
Darmawan said that his party carried out in detail various program actions to ensure the reliability of electricity supply in Bali during the G20 Summit.
"We are also designing security classifications for several special venues such as airports, hotels, tourist areas, to hospitals," he added.

The success of organizing the G20 Indonesia will be proof of PLN's reliability in supporting world standard activities.
"Therefore, PLN will ensure careful preparation, especially from the generation side to transmission, to the event venue," he concluded.
