The Criminal Investigation Unit (Satreskrim) of the Cimahi Police arrested a married couple with the initials YK (29) and LF (29) for being involved in the persecution of domestic assistants (ART) in Cilame Village, West Bandung Regency. Both have been named suspects.Deputy Chief of Cimahi Police, Kompol Niko Adiputra, said the ART with the initials R (29) was abused and suffered bruises on his face, both arms, and back.Meanwhile, R was rescued by local residents along with the TNI and Polri officers while being held at the suspect's residence."Melakukan tindak pidana yang masuk merampas kemerdekaan, melakukan penetapan dan adanya perbuatan secara bersama-sama melakukan kekerasan atau pengeroyokan dan juga penganiayaan," kata Niko di Polres Cimahi, Kota Cimahi, Jawa Barat, dikutip dari Antara, Senin, 31 Oktober.According to him, R has worked as an ART for five months at the suspect's residence. Meanwhile, Niko suspects that R has experienced a number of persecutions since three months ago."This is still investigating the cause and how it happened. We are still investigating this, which will be delivered at a time," said Niko.Niko explained that initially there was suspicion from local residents that every night at the perpetrator's house there were always screams and cries and angry screams.After that, according to him, residents and security officers took the initiative to break into the house when the suspects left the house. After that, he said, residents immediately rescued the victim."The victim admitted that he was always mistreated with his bare hands and used household furniture if he made mistakes such as not washing his hands if he was going to carry the baby, the clothes were not neat, forgot to turn off the water switch and other trivial things," said Niko.From the crime scene, Niko said investigators confiscated a number of furniture from the house that the suspect allegedly used to persecute the victim. Furthermore, he said, the police also accompanied the victim for trauma recovery efforts.As a result of his actions, Niko said YK and LF were charged with Article 333 and Article 170 in conjunction with 351 of the Criminal Code sub-article 44 of Law No. 23 of 2004 concerning domestic violence. Niko said the two suspects face up to 10 years in prison.
