Cak Imin Asks Jokowi To Study PKB's Proposal On Lowering Fuel Prices For Motorcycles And General Transportation

JAKARTA - Chairman of the PKB DPP Muhaimin Iskandar or Cak Imin proposed to President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) to study the possibility of lowering fuel oil prices (BBM) for motorcycles and public transportation."The motorcycle price has decreased, specifically for motorbikes and public transportation. But earlier it was still calculated because the owner of the motorcycle was 70 million," said Cak Imin after meeting with President Jokowi at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Monday 31 October.Cak Imin and high-ranking PKB DPP officials were previously received by President Jokowi. The agenda for the PKB DPP meeting and the President, said Cak Imin, was related to the recommendation from the meeting of around 5,000 main PKB cadres in Jakarta on 28-30 October 2022.The meeting of the main PKB cadres gave birth to several recommendations that President Jokowi wanted to convey, one of which was the possibility of decreasing fuel prices for motorcycles and public transportation.According to Cak Imin, President Jokowi still needs to review the recommendations for reducing fuel prices for motorcycles and public transportation. He said the proposed reduction in fuel prices for motorcycles and public transportation was realistic and could be carried out by the government, based on the calculation of the PKB DPP."But he (President Jokowi) will check at the Ministry of Finance," said Cak Imin.Another recommendation from the main PKB cadres submitted to President Jokowi is the limitation on the distribution of subsidized fertilizers to be prioritized for farmers and land owners with half a hectare of land."Earlier it will be studied and seen because global production of this fertilizer does have war constraints, crisis constraints and gas supply from Russia and Ukraine," he said.Other recommendations from PKB, among others, are regarding the empowerment of the millennial generation so that Indonesia can take advantage of demographic bonuses. Then also recommendations regarding electricity subsidies that should be prioritized to the poor.Furthermore, PKB also recommended that the government revise Presidential Regulation Number 33 of 2022 concerning Regional Unit Price Standards."It is appropriate to use the DPRD's work budget based on the reality of the budget of each region. So it is left entirely to the regional capabilities. Those who are able to perform according to the budget capacity, those who cannot afford it are reduced, not uniformed," said Cak Imin.
