Snapchat Release Director Mode, This Time Hopes To Overcome TikTok

JAKARTA - Snap parent company Snapchat presents Director Mode, giving creators more tools to create content. This mode was originally revealed last April, now accessible to Android and iOS users around the world.

Director Mode includes a variety of more advanced editing tools in the app, including a green screen that is becoming very popular thanks to TikTok and a fast editing feature that allows content creators to cut videos in real time.

There is also dual camera control, so users can use the front and back of the camera at the same time to create 360 degrees of content.

In addition, the Director of Mode also offers the option to control the speed of the camera, giving users the ability to accelerate or slow down when creating content.

This means that users can increase their recording speed by twice or slow it down to half.

Director Mode is now in the camera tool bar in the app, or users can tap the Create button on Spotlight to access the follow-up editing option.

Furthermore, this Mode Director provides more ways to create outstanding content in the app. Of course, it also includes Spotlight content, which is a platform created by Snap similar to TikTok, now used by more than 300 million users every month.

Total time watching Spotlight content in the app has also increased by 55 percent year-on-year, and with the Director Mode it will provide more ways to take advantage of Spotlight's popularity with short videos of users.

However, according to XDA Developers quoted Friday, October 28, it's hard for Snap to compete with TikTok. The reason is, ByteDance's Chinese social media has dominated the landscape with its short videos, forcing competitors like Snapchat, Instagram, and even YouTube to change.

TikTok is also not yet a complacency person even though it is at its peak, the company continues to add new features quickly.
