Will Show Princess Diana's Funeral Scene, The Crown 5 Series Gets Strong Criticism

JAKARTA - Netflix has confirmed that the release of The Crown 5 will be scheduled for November 9. After the trailer was released, various criticisms rained down on the streaming service. What is it?

In the trailer released last week, one of the things that stole the show was the separation of Prince Charles and Princess Diana. Their decision to divorce put the British kingdom in the spotlight.

The creator of The Crown, Peter Morgan, reportedly put the scene of Princess Diana's funeral in September 1997. Another moment that made the day painful was when Prince William was 15 years old and Harry (12) walked behind his mother's chest.

The author of the biographer Prince Harry, Angela Levin, expressed her rejection of Princess Diana's funeral scene. Reportedly the moment was trauma for the two kings.

Humanless, disrespectful, and painful. When I first interviewed Harry, he asked if I had watched The Crown which was still the second season," Angela Levin quoted the UK Cosmopolitan as saying.

"I said no and he said, 'Oh you have to watch it. The only problem is that they have to stop before they get to my story," he continued.

Levin also revealed that Harry felt sad when asked to stand behind his mother's coffin.

My mother just died and I had to walk behind her coffin, surrounded by thousands of people while millions more watched me on television. I don't think any child should be asked that way," Levin said.

"No child has to lose their mother at such a young age and then thousands of people observe the sadness," Levin continued in memory of the conversation with Harry.

Meanwhile, Elizabeth Debicki, who plays Princess Diana in The Crown 5, ensures that the production team knows how to present scenes without offending one party.

"I would say that Peter and the rest of this work crew did their best to really handle everything with sensitivity and truth and complexity, just like the actors," Elizabeth Debicki told EW.

Research and conversations that occur from the point of view of the audience that you don't realize are truly extraordinary. That's what I realized when I met Peter. I know they take it seriously in a caring way," said Debicki.

On the other hand, Netflix and Peter Morgan have not responded to the criticism that is being made by the public.
